MV6. The Australian. The one that doesn't get enough credit at the dinner table but quietly outperforms everything around it when nobody's looking. Developed right here on home soil and built specifically for the Australian cool climate — MV6 knows this land in a way the Burgundian imports are still figuring out. Looser clusters, earlier ripening, and a natural affinity for bright fruit and supple structure that makes it dangerously approachable without ever being simple.

Don't let the easy drinking fool you. There is real intent here.

Grown at elevation in the Woodside valley on a single high-density site — 7,000 vines per hectare pushing roots deep into ancient soils, competing for every nutrient, every drop of moisture, every reason to produce something worth drinking. Cool Adelaide Hills nights lock in aromatics while the site's morning aspect builds a ripeness that the 2022 vintage delivered with rare generosity. Hand-harvested at peak. Fermented with a portion of whole bunches for lift and spice. Aged twelve months in French oak, a quarter new, rested, and bottled unfined because we didn't see anything that needed fixing.

In the glass, a bright and vivid crimson — transparent at the edges, glowing at the core. This one has nothing to hide.

The nose is immediately generous. Fresh red cherry, raspberry, and a little crushed strawberry sit up front with a floral violet lift that is pure MV6 at its best. Underneath, a gentle undergrowth, a touch of five spice, and the faintest wisp of cedar from the oak — present but never pushy.

On the palate it opens beautifully. Plush, round tannins with just enough grip to let you know it means business, framing a bright and juicy core of red fruits with a savoury, earthy mid-palate that adds weight without heaviness. The finish is long, clean, and quietly confident — the kind of wine that refills your glass before you've noticed it's empty.

The devil's share was always the best bit. Now you know why.
